Stories of life before genocide
What can we talk about when discussing the experience of genocide? About life before that was brutally interrupted. Keeping memories of the past alive by sharing stories on life
before plays an important role in the lives of many survivors and to the families of those who were killed. These memories are elaborated upon with the help of objects, photographs and songs that tell the tales of ancestors and ancestral lands and culture.
These memories serve to celebrate the humanity of the victims—the very humanity the perpetrators sought so vehemently to deny.
