Transmitting the memory of genocide: Why, how?
Why is it important to keep the memory of genocides alive? The various answers to this question will often reflect the different regional and cultural perspectives adopted by the individual and the communities.
The Montreal Holocaust Memorial Centre chose to explore this question in partnership with other Montreal communities affected by genocide: The Armenian National Committee of Quebec, the Association des Parents et Amis des Victimes du Génocide au Rwanda (PAGE-RWANDA), the Communauté Angkorienne du Canada and the Centre Khémara, two Cambodian community organizations. Other groups will eventually participate in the project.
